Our Goals

Numerical Goals are quantitative. They have their place in any church. More importantly, however, we seek qualitative goals—those signs which give evidence to vibrant Christian faith among all members of Light and Life Goleta.

In one year, we plan to have over 200 people worshipping with us every week. We plan to have small group ministries in place which most often meet in members’ homes, by the end of year one, we would like to have 4-5 small groups meeting independently from one another. Furthermore, we plan to produce a deeply worshipful and enriching Logos Café service and an exciting LLG-Kidz Club each week. We plan to continue to meet in the Fairview Twin Theatre on Fairview Ave.

In three years, we plan to serve over 600 persons weekly in our small groups and our weekly celebration service at the Fairview Theatre. We will be utilizing all three of the movie auditoriums for our morning service. In the main auditorium we will have Logos Café at 8:00 and 10:00, and LLG-Kidz at 9:00. In the second auditorium we will serve the children with a lively and interactive small group program. The third auditorium will be utilized as either an overflow room where worshippers may watch the celebration service on a closed-circuit video feed, or as a nursery, or an additional place for children’s small groups.

As to our small group ministries, we will have a variety of small group formats, yet with a continued emphasis on home cell groups in the evening. We recognize the various work and family commitments of our congregation and seek to be flexible in offering small accountability groups to every person seeking spiritual growth. In three years we will have over 25 small groups meeting weekly at LLG. These groups will be led overwhelmingly by lay ministry leaders.
