Light and Life Goleta is a new church, launched in the fall of 2007. The members of Light and Life Goleta (LLG for short) believe in creating a worship service that is comfortable and relevant for people without a background or history of involvement in a church. Part of our decision to meet in a movie theatre is based on that commitment. It is also important to us that people seeking to grow in their understanding of Jesus Christ and devotion to a holy lifestyle will find support and resources for such spiritual development as well. We seek to accomplish through three venues.

The first is in our children’s program—“LLG Kidz Club”. We produce this energetic variety show to encourage families to attend church together and truly have a good time at church. We don’t want church to be boring! This “family program” teaches Biblical values in the context of singing, humor, dancing, and skits—providing wholesome fun and spiritual nourishment at the same time.

The second is our teenager-adult worship service, “Logos Café”. This service is designed to be casual and conversational, yet deeply nourishing for those seeking to grow spiritually. People are frequently encouraged to ask questions of each other and the pastor in ways that are non-judgmental, yet which encourage further discussion and study throughout the week.

The third is in our small group ministry (which we plan to launch by summer of 2008). We believe the small group setting (often meeting in members’ homes) fosters spiritual growth in ways the large group gathering cannot.
